Nei pressi di Savona sfocia a mare il torrente Quiliano che riceve l'acqua calda della centrale elettrica di
Vado.
Il torrente crea onde statiche che si sommano scontrandosi con i frangenti che arrivano
dal mare.
Andando li in mezzo in canoa l'effetto è molto divertente, vieni fiondato dalla
forza del mare contro le onde di corrente contraria, il tutto in acqua a
30°C...!
Just outside savona there is the Quiliano stream which takes the warm water from the nearby power station of Vado.
The stream generates some static waves which clash against the breaking waves from the sea.
To go there with a kayak is really fun, the power of the sea is sending you against the current...and the water is really warm (approx 30°C, 85F)!
Oggi Cesare (col Sirius S), Antonio (col Sirius S) ed io (con il Baidarka Explorer) abbiamo passato due piacevoli ore a misurarci con questo ambiente molto dinamico. Le chiglie a V profonda dei Sirius e del Baidarka ci hanno aiutato non poco!
Today Cesare, Antonio and myself spent two nice hours trying to cope with this dynamic environment. The deep Vee keels of the Siriuses and Baidarka helped us a lot!

Alla fine, neanche a dirlo, ha prevalso lo spirito IKDM... .giusto per la una siamo rientrati per mettere le gambe sotto il tavolo. Prosecco, acciughe fritte e stoccafisso sono state il giusto coronamento della giornata.
Eventually, you bet, the usual seafood-craving-mood of our club "IkdM" has led us, just around 1PM into a restaurant. Prosecco, fried anchovies and stockfish helped us to celebrate the day.
